RKK is based in the county of Rogaland, Norway’s most international region. It was here that the Norwegian oil business set down roots in the late 1960s, bringing in its wake the most comprehensive change process ever seen in Norwegian industry.
Learning and experience exchange became core values in this exciting development: learning across national boundaries, professional areas and established teaching principles. The pressing demands for continuing education, new knowledge and skills gave rise to constructive innovative measures, one of which was the establishment of Rogaland Training and Education Centre (RKK) in 1989.
The idea was as simple as it was ingenious: to form close cooperation between the publicly-owned vocational schools, the county and municipal authorities, employers’ and employees’ organisations and the local public and business sectors. Last week RKK arranged a management seminar for school leaders in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. The seminar is one in a long series of seminars that are part of the cooperation agreement between RKK and the Ministry of Education in Kazakhstan.
