Close to 50 course participants in Ryfylke, with the main emphasis on child and youth work, health worker subjects and tertiary vocational level courses in mental health work, cancer care and palliative care, is the result so far of the joint effort made by Ryfylke Kompetanseformidling and RKK to recruit students from the area to health subject programmes leading to formal qualifications. A month ago, we reported that keen interest was shown at the information meetings we organisedt (see separate news item), and it is this work which is now beginning to bear fruit. Odd Harald Olsen, managing director of Ryfylke IKS, one of the main shareholders of Ryfylke Kompetanseformdling, sees this as a positive trend and believes the work done so far has shown that it pays to have a clear focus and dedicated players.

The course programmes in Ryfylke are scheduled to start early in September. RKK already has a corresponding scheme available nationwide which receives positive feedback.
