Independent certification of ATC in cooperation with authorities, industry and DNV
An important milestone in the establishment of the Aktau Training Centre took place on 03.04.08 as the first meeting was held on approval of skills and competence requirements for welders, pipe fitters and plate workers, whom the adult training cenre ATC shall educate. Above - Meeting participants
Det Norske Veritas has got a task to establish an independent certification body for those who have finished their training. The DNV shall be responsible for independent testing and issuing of certificates. This is the first international experience in international independent certification in Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by representatives from major suppliers both from Kazakhstan and from international companies like Aibel and Aker Solutions,
together with representatives from the authorities from the ministries and standartization organizations, a total of 13 companies/organizations were represented.
RKK’s project management has the responsibility for development of training requirements which shall be used as a basis for competence requirements to be set.
The project is a part of an extensive cooperation in the field of vocational education which RKK has with Kazakhstan.
The Certification Committee for the ATC consisting of representatives from public authorities, industry and Det Norske Veritas shall provide certification for the workers. Here during the start-up meeting for work in Actau, April, 3rd, 2008.
