Vocational ePathways for agriculturalists in a changing business environment

Aims and target groups:

To provide an innovative and adequate response to specific training needs detected in farmers who primarily have inherited their businesses from their parents and lack business/entrepreneurial skills to take their farming business into the 21st century and become more competitive and secondly, to develop a new pedagogical methodology to process specific needs into training items by use of an e-learning platform allowing for distance learning, distance training methodologies as well as guidelines and specific suggestions for mobile learning targeting this geographical
dispersed target group.

The innovative aspects of the proposal relate to the target users, the identified training needs in business areas and subjects such as alternative forms of farming (biological) and the use of technology enhanced learning and
distance learning environment. The project aims to educate existing farmers who have inherited their business from their family as well as young farmers (male and female) and provide the necessary training in converting them into successful SME entrepreneurs.

The objective is to use leading ICT technologies but also traditional distance learning methodologies as well as mobile learning guidelines and solutions to convert a family farm business into a thriving European SME.
