Algeria
RKK / SOTS (www.sots.no) signed an agreement with StatoilHydro ASA in 2008 for the implementation of tool-pusher training in Algeria.
The training programme, comprising 11 complete 1-week modules, is scheduled to start on 1 June 2009.
Øystein Førsvoll is project manager. Local engineers are currently following English language courses to prepare them for their technical training. On completing the 11-week programme, they will go on to IWCF courses followed by six months’ practice on the field. Most of the course participants will subsequently find employment in local oil companies.
